24|7 boiler cover is an insurance policy that can help you with heating or hot water emergencies or breakdowns. Our basic policy covers boiler breakdown, but we also offer insurance policies with more cover such as gas central heating, plumbing, drainage, home security, electrics, and pest control.

Policies are available with different excess levels (from no excess to £95 excess) to suit your budget. An excess is the amount you’ll pay towards each claim. Be careful, however, as not all providers of boiler cover are regulated by the FCA.

We’ve been regulated by the FCA since 2021 so, with our insurance products, you have greater levels of consumer protection and access to the Financial Ombudsman and Financial Services Compensation Scheme.

At some point it’s likely there will be a problem with your boiler, hot water or heating. You could choose to self-insure but this means hoping that you’ll be able to find a tradesperson when you need help and there could be big one-off payments you’ll need to make.

With 24|7 Home Rescue’s boiler cover, you can pay monthly, interest-free and most of our products come with a boiler service in each 12-month period. If you have a problem, you’ll be able to log your claim 24 hours a day.

Our boiler cover is very similar to other forms of insurance you will be used to. You choose the level of cover that meets your needs (for example boiler and gas central heating cover) and the amount of excess you are willing to pay per claim.

A policy with less cover and a higher excess will be cheaper than a policy with more cover and lower excess. You can choose, depending on your cover and budgetary requirements.

Our products are available with or without a boiler service, depending upon your requirements. Our boiler service is a non-insurance element of our products and is designed to give your boiler a health, safety and efficiency check during each 12-month period.

To book your boiler service, simply get in touch with our service booking team or schedule your appointment online through your My Account page. In most cases, you can choose a time that works best for you (subject to availability).

We typically schedule boiler services from April to September, so availability may be more limited during the colder months when we’re focused on emergency repairs and breakdowns.

For your boiler cover, you can select the excess level per claim for your cover. The higher the excess, the lower the amount you pay on a monthly basis. If you make a claim then we will ask you to pay the excess you’ve selected as a contribution towards the cost of the claim.

That depends on your needs. You might need boiler cover, or you may want added protection for heating, plumbing, drainage, electrics, pests, and home security. 24|7 offers flexible options to suit your requirements.

As recommended by the Gas Safe Register, the official gas registration body, any gas appliance should have an annual safety check, also known as a boiler service, unless the manufacturer’s guidelines recommend otherwise.

Secondly, an annual boiler service keeps your boiler under warranty and keeps it running effectively and efficiently. Also, if you are a landlord, then getting an annual boiler service and maintaining your gas safety certificate is a legal responsibility.

It all depends on the provider and their policy terms. Many boilers, especially older boilers, cannot be fixed as spare parts are hard to come by – or are just very expensive compared to the value of the boiler itself. At 24|7 Home Rescue, if your boiler cannot be fixed at an economical price we will offer you our boiler replacement terms. However, we will always try to repair your boiler if the cost of repairs is less than £250 and parts remain available.

Different providers describe similar products in different ways. We have 4 main categories which we are explained below.

• Boiler Care includes cover for emergencies and breakdowns of the boiler, but also includes a non-insurance annual boiler service, in each 12-month agreement period. A boiler service can save you money by keeping your boiler running efficiently and reduce the likelihood of a breakdown in the future.
• Our Heating Care Policy includes protection for both the boiler and the central heating system. This also includes a boiler service in each 12-month agreement.
• Lastly our Home Care Plus policy includes all the elements above but also widens the cover to other non-heating-related problems. This includes plumbing and electrics (Home Cover), and plumbing, electrics, drainage, home security and pest control (Home Cover Plus).

The main difference between Homeowner and Landlord boiler cover is that the Landlord cover includes our assistance in helping the Landlord in their legal requirement to maintain an annual Landlord Gas Safety Record.

24|7 Home Rescue can provide this as part our Landlord products. All our engineers are Gas Safe registered and we can provide electronic copies of the certificates for your ease.

Some providers of home insurance offer this as a feature of their products. Check that you’re not already covered by your home insurance or other policies, so you are not paying for cover you don’t need.

Like any appliance, boilers lose efficiency and become more prone to issues over time, leading to higher gas bills and frequent breakdowns. Eventually, the cost of repairs may outweigh its value, making it Beyond Economic Repair (BER).

Some providers won’t cover older boilers, but we do at 24|7 Home Rescue. If repairs cost £250 or less and parts are available, we’ll carry them out. In case your boiler is deemed BER or can’t be repaired, we’ll offer you boiler replacement options, subject to our terms and conditions.

The price of a boiler service is shown as FREE when compared to the equivalent product without a boiler service. The boiler service is free in the first year only. Upon renewal the boiler service is chargeable.

• Only one offer per household.
• No cash alternatives will be offered.
• The boiler service is a non-insurance element of your agreement and is subject to its own terms.
• If you cancel your agreement within the 12 months agreement period and you have had a Free Boiler Service, a cancellation fee may be applicable.

This promotion only applies to a single policy and must be like-for-like. A “like-for-like” policy means that the information in your new policy, which you purchase through 24|7 Home Rescue, should be identical to the details in your renewal quote.

The 2 Year fixed price term means your price won’t increase at the first renewal of your product, unless you opt for different cover, a different excess or government tax rates have changed. We’ll contact you in good time before your agreement renewal date. Your agreement will automatically renew unless you choose to cancel or opt-out of auto-renewal. Automatic renewal ensures that you remain protected.

The main reasons that the price of your agreement changes at renewal are because introductory offers (such as a first year free boiler service) have expired or because of the increased costs of providing our services to you because of inflation, improved products or investment in our infrastructure.

Your price could also change if you request a change to your agreement, such as changing your excess or opting for different levels of cover.
