A survey has revealed February to be the worst month for boiler breakdowns. New figures from direct line for business suggest that the number of boilers breaking down will hit its peak, with their analysis stating that claims for broken down boilers rise by 163% during the next month. With temperatures set to get even colder, this is probably the last thing you needed to hear!
In 2016, the insurers also saw a 27% rise in broken boiler claims compared with the year before. It’s hard to imagine losing all warmth in your home in freezing temperatures, especially if you live with the elderly, children or disabled people. Thankfully, we’ve put together some of our best advice for preventing a breakdown or what to do in the event of one!
