1. Make sure that your boiler is being regularly serviced:
The heavy cost of replacing boilers is nothing new, and with Christmas just around the corner it’s a price we could do without paying! Instead, ensure you have breakdown cover in place and spread the cost monthly.
2. Rearrange the furniture:
As crazy as it sounds, if your sofa is positioned in front of a radiator you may be preventing the rest of the room from heating and wasting money on heating furniture that doesn’t need to be heated.
3. Invest in fluffy rugs and socks:
Your feet can get awfully cold when the cold weather hits, so keep them nice and warm by covering hard laminate or tiled floors with layers. Having cold feet can lead to poor circulation, and not only are you less likely to have an accident, but you’ll also be extra comfy!
4. Regularly bleed your radiators:
Its simple – bleeding them guarantees that they work super efficiently by getting rid of trapped air bubbles that stop hot water from flowing freely, keeping the rooms snug and warm!
5. Invest in thermal curtains:
Whilst open during the day, they let in natural heat from the sun and keep it in the room when closed at night. They prevent the heat from escaping through the glass and aren’t actually that pricy.
6. Get out and about:
Whether it’s exercising or socialising, by keeping yourself busy your body will be less prone to the cold, and by leaving the house you’ll also be saving money on those heating bills!
